This one was born with a dark corner in his heart, like he has questions that he keeps to himself.  I think an ancient part of him suspects that the answers are like sledgehammers, wrecking balls, like bridges collapsing.  So he won’t ask yet.

And when he laughs, we let him laugh as long as he can.  Even in quiet places at quiet times when no one else is laughing and everyone stares.
