Heading home
It’s Friday and I’m heading home. I’ll drive on our slick back roads in just about an hour and pull into the driveway.
My father used to come home on Friday nights, after a long week away at work and sit, in his car in the driveway, engine still running, waiting. Maybe listening to the end of a jazz tune, maybe wondering if he was as welcome inside as he wanted to be.

Where change is right now
My oldest son kissed me last night as we were laying down to go to sleep. He held my locks with both his hands and kissed me like he might never see me again, but with a serene smile across his face and his eyes in bliss.
I think we should live like that. Like kissing. Face to face with the world, taking in its breath, sending ours back. Touching just right.
